If you're new to the Harry Potter trading card game (TCG) or you're the parent of a child who has been eagerly awaiting the release of the game, you might have asked yourself, "what exactly is this Harry Potter Trading Card Game?"

To answer that question, it might be helpful to give you a little background information about TCGs. The first trading card game, Magic: The Gathering, was created in the early '90s and was an immediate success. Magic: The Gathering spawned a whole new genre of games. The Pokémon trading card game was the first of these to break into mainstream kid culture. Now there are TCGs based on television shows, comic book characters, and even sports heroes!

Collectible and Customizable

The main difference between a TCG like Harry Potter and a regular card game (like "Go Fish" or "War") is that each player uses his or her own deck of cards when playing instead of having a common deck that both players draw from. Plus, these decks can be customized using any cards available for the game, so kids can play their favorite characters, creatures, and items from the Harry Potter world or try to build the perfect, unbeatable deck.

Another difference between a TCG and other games is that kids trade these cards to each other (like baseball cards). Some cards are considered more rare and valuable, and therefore more collectible, than others. It's easy to tell the rarity of a card because a little symbol depicting its rarity is pictured on each individual card. In the Harry Potter TCG, rare cards have a star, uncommon cards have a diamond, and common cards have a circle.

Some kids might try to complete a collection, avidly trading Harry Potter cards until they own every last one. Others might only want to get cards of their favorite characters from the books. Still others might be on a constant lookout for just the right card for their latest deck.

Game Play

TCGs are usually more complex and offer more opportunities for advanced strategic playing than other card games. This is partly because of the ability to customize decks (every game match is different and requires a different strategy to win). Another reason for this is that each card in a TCG has its own specific set of rules and conditions. So, every card adds another level and changes each individual game! Just think of the opportunities to teach your child the values of critical thinking! (Shh…parents, just tell your kids that TCGs are fun!)

These individual card rules are often referred to as "game mechanics." One card in the Harry Potter TCG might have a game mechanic that makes your opponent discard one of his or her creatures in play. Another card's game mechanic might have you take a number of cards out of your discard pile and shuffle the cards back into your deck. So, you can see why there are so many options to choose from when designing a deck, and why no two decks are the same!

Not Just a Game!

Like other card games, the Harry Potter TCG offers your child a lot of fun, but it's also educational. Besides teaching critical thinking and problem solving, Harry Potter also stimulates a child's creativity by allowing them to design their own decks. The game also teaches how to play fair, follow rules, and how to win and lose graciously. These are pretty big lessons wrapped up in a game that provides your child with a great time!

Satu kritik yang patut dipertimbangkan, karena game Gundam seri ini tidak menyediakan kartu-kartu yang berjumlah banyak, bagi penulis situs ini, game ini dianggap tidak bagus.

Because there are so few cards, there is really no reason to make this game a CCG. If Bandai had ironed out a few rule wrinkles and made this a stand alone boxed set, it would have been a lot of fun. Of course, no one actually buys card games to play them anymore, do they? Despite some innovative features that a thinking game designer slipped into the rules, this is obviously a hack job by Bandai to cash in while they still can. If you're a serious Gundam fan, you can probably find these cards on sale in the not to distant future and get yourself a complete set for the cost of a Gundam model kit. Of course, if you actually want to play the game, you'll have to finish making up the rules that the designers gave up on half way through.

Gensō Suikoden Card Stories​ (幻想水滸伝カードストーリーズ?) is a spin-off title of the Suikoden franchise by Konami which includes both a Game Boy Advance game and a physical collectible card game. Both were released in the fall of 2001 in Japan, neither have been translated into other languages.
Unlike other areas of the Suikoden franchise, in which the storyline is a major element of gameplay, Card Stories focuses mainly on the card battles themselves and less on the plot.

The Fullmetal Alchemist Trading Card Game is, frankly, the best anime-related TCG/CCG out there (Sorry, Yu-Gi-Oh!). Released in 2005 by JoyRide Studios, the creators of the game have had previous branding and creation experience with the .hack CCG, as well as Legend of the Five Rings, Lord of the Rings, Doomtown, and more.

FMA-TCG is a high-strategy collectible card game. The main point of the game is to fight to control enough 'points' of locations (which are fought over one at a time) to win - without having all of your allies and Leader defeated (an automatic loss). Your deck personifies a single (with some exceptions!) Leader, and you recruit Allies, augmenting them with Attachments and one-use Event cards to help you win the goals of each location. As the game progresses, your Leader becomes more powerful, shown through replacing them with stronger Leader cards that allow you to recruit more powerful Allies.

The main "Why should I play?" point of the game is that playing wins the game, not just deckbuilding. This isn't only an 'I have the most powerful cards' game, or 'I have read the internet for deck construction' game, it is an ever-changing battle game where you outthink your opponent, not outspend them. For those of you who are more anime-fan than TCG-fan, the game carries with it the same 'feel' of the Fullmetal Alchemist series - playing as Roy requires a lot of political maneuvering and control of your environment to assure victory, whereas a Scar player relies on one-on-one assasinations and raw power.

That, and the cards are really cool. ^^

Mereka tidak perlu mengetahui tentang pertandingan kartu tingkat REGIONAL, NASIONAL,atau INTERNASIONAL dengan menggunakan kartu-kartu ini, sebab mereka bebas membuat 'rule of the game' sendiri.




Hanya dengan membeli kartu POKEMON palsu ini, per kotaknya Rp. 2.000,- dan waktu tadi aku beli 3 bungkus, dapat 'bonus' 5 kartu lagi. Kulihat beberapa hari yg lalu, penjual ini menjelaskan 'teknik2' kepada anak-anak SD yang mengkerubutinya. Sayang, aku tidak membawa Digital Cameraku... jadi kutonton saja. Dia menjelaskan cara mengalahkan lawan, bla bla bla...
