Election Quest is a new collectible card game (CCG) released in connection with the 2004 U.S. presidential election. Publisher Bro! Novelties says the game "uses humor, political insight, and detailed fantasy artwork to poke fun at American politics."
According to a company press release, the game features 25 fantasy-inspired caricatures by artist Terry Wolfinger, a limited edition All-Star card, and an easy-to-learn, original battle system.
The cast of characters includes George W. Bush, John Kerry, Bill Clinton, Bill O'Reilly and John McCain. The game pits Right against Left in head-to-head combat to answer the question: Who will claim the presidency?
Election Quest is the creation "staunch conservative" Anthony Trifiletti and "liberal" Mitch Borgeson.
"The only thing you can do in an election year besides voting, provided your vote actually gets counted, is laugh," said Borgeson, COO of Bro! Novelties, in the release. "Election Quest gets right to the heart of 2004's political comedy."
Election Quest is equal opportunity in its satire and neither right nor left escapes the game's tongue-in-cheek humor. "We strive to be fair and balanced," said Trifiletti, Bro! CTO. "It's open season on everyone, Republican or Democrat."
Election Quest takes its roster of political luminaries and media personalities and places them within the fictional kingdom of Americania -- a realm inspired by fantasy novels, movies, and games.

A political satire, Election Quest also parodies role-playing games by using character classes and powers familiar to RPG fans. In the world of Election Quest, Howard Dean becomes a Trollborn Berzerker with a mighty battle cry and Condoleezza Rice an Elven Farseer.
"Politics and the fantasy universe are a natural combination," said Borgeson. "They are both filled with intrigue, power struggles, and people with bad hair cuts."
Election Quest is intended for political junkies of all ages. Each deck contains 24 playable character cards, 4 "attack" cards such as "War" and "Economy" which modify attributes in play, a limited edition All-Star card, and a rules card.
